Shrabony Akter

She is currently working with the Centre for Governance Studies as a Research Assistant. She is the Coordinator of this project from CGS. She completed her Graduation and Postgraduation from the Department of International Relations, University of Dhaka.

Being an enthusiastic IR Graduate, her research interests revolve around compelling areas such as World Politics, Geopolitics, Security Studies, Migration, Refugee Crisis, Media, and Gender. Her fervent passion and unwavering focus drive her to build a robust and rewarding career in the research sector. With her profound passion for learning and commitment to her field, Shrabony aspires to contribute significantly to the understanding and resolution of complex global issues.

Thain Shewe Kyaw

His discipline is Anthropology, he completed his MSS and BSS from the Department of Anthropology at the University of Chittagong. He is from Marma indigenous community residing in the Bandarban Hill District. Every morning he loves to recite- "May all sentient beings be at peace, may no one suffer from illness, may all see what is auspicious, may no one suffer".

Debi Karmakar

Debi Karmakar is working as Research Assistant at the Centre for Governance studies since February 2023. She pursued her BSS and MSS at the International Relations Department of the University of at the International Relations Department of the University of Dhaka. She studied "Media and International relations "in her graduation phase which helped her better understand media literacy, the power of propaganda, and public diplomacy.

She has been facilitating regional dialogue and training sessions and contributing to the documentation of dialogues sessions for the training manual for the " Countering misinformation in Bangladesh" implemented by Centre for Governance Studies and funded by the U.S. Department of State. She coordinated as a ‘Communication Strategist’ in the ‘Bay of Bengal Conversation, 2023’, Flagship Project of CGS. Recently, she worked in “Bangladesh 2024 Election-Related Violence and News Reporting Analysis” a project Funded by ‘Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office’. She contributed in the data collection of Bangladesh Election Commission Activities, election Day media monitoring and post-election media- monitoring activities.
